CAMPING
What child doesn’t enjoy camping? For those who are new to camping, it might appear a little bit intimidating, but the following book takes away some of the fear, and helps you to get started in your backyard!
Roughing It Easy by Dian Thomas (Over one million copies have been sold.)
This is a must book for camping. Every home should have one. This book covers camping in your living room and cooking in your fireplace, camping in your backyard, overnight camping, and extended trips. All the gear is inexpensive and can usually be found around your house. You can cook in a wheelbarrow, a cardboard box or on a pile of stones.
Recipes are given for baking cake in scooped out oranges and making ice cream in a coffee can. It has excellent survival skills. This is a great book for family times and for those leaders willing to take a group of youngsters on a camp out and cook the old-fashioned way. I was excited to read this book and can't wait to try some of these ideas.
